By the end of this year or early next year the German company BMW will market the hybrid version of its popular SUV model X5, which is expected to be displayed at the exhibition in Frankfurt in the autumn. It is known with certainty that the X5 Active Hybrid will have a different drive system than the X6 Active Hybrid, whereby the internal combustion engine is a 4.4-liter gasoline twin-turbo V8. BMW X5 Active Hybrid is based on the concept X5 Vision EfficientDynamics Concept, debuted at Geneva in 2008. With this hybrid system consists of a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 204 h.p. and electric generating additional 20 h.p.
It is very likely X5 Active Hybrid to use the same system as a concept or a similar one, which gives an average fuel consumption of 6.5l/100km. and emits 172 gr/km. CO2 emissions.

From the headquarters of the German company BMW has announced that the new generation M5 will get a version with four-wheel drive to, as it will likely use a system xDrive X5 M and X6 M.
