After a long anticipation from fans and many spy photos, BMW has finally revealed the first official history in its M-Power versions of the X models, whose sales will start in summer.
X5 M and X6 M are equipped with new 4.4-liter V8 turbine power units, whose power is 555h.p. 6 000rev/min. and its maximum torque is 680Nm. in the range 1 500-5 650rev/min. Aggregates allows cars to accelerate from 0-100 kilometers / hr for 4.7sec. and to develop maximum speed of 275 kilometers / h, if the client is ordered as an option “M Driver’s Package”, otherwise it has a limit of 250 kilometers / hr
Both cars are the first in the history of M-models, which are 6-stage automatic transmission, whose transmission can be changed by steering gears. Drive is performed to the four wheels via xDrive, which is modified so that it delivers more power to the rear undercarriage.
X5 M and X6 M is different from the serial model with a lower sports suspension, improvements in systems and Dynamic Performance Control Servo-tronic, and new ventilated brakes with larger discs and 4-piston calipers that are fixed in front and back floating.
As to appearance, the two versions are equipped with new front bumpers with larger air holes, modified rear bumpers, which are built four codend of the exhaust system and 20-inch wheels, and interiors of the cars have been characteristic of M model layout.
