Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will make its world premiere of an entirely new model, the crossover ASX, during the 80th International Motor Show in Geneva, which will be held from 2nd to 14th March, 2010. ASX model is the European version of the already presented RVR, which launched sales in Japan is planned for next month. The new 5-seater crossover from Mitsubishi will be launched in Europe in early summer, in order to extend the presence of MMC cars in the region. Among the proposed aggregates ASX is the all-new 1.8-liter diesel engine with direct injection and turbo compressor meeting the Euro 5 standard. The unit is jointly MMC and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. technology and has “Automatic Stop & Go”. In addition to the 6-speed manual gearbox, this modification is characterized with high environmental efficiency.

In late October of Mitsubishi said it plans to introduce a new crossover, which will be officially presented to the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010th, but it appeared that information was misleading, since the model debuted at the exhibition in Los Angeles. RVR is called crossover and will be positioned in the model Outlander, the lineup of Mitsubishi. Sales of cars will start first in Japan in spring 2010th, and consequently it will appear in other Asian markets, Europe and USA. Mitsubishi currently does not disclose in much detail about RVR, but it is clear that he will be available with all-new petrol engine 1.8 MIVEC, but at a later stage will be introduced and diesel. The Japanese also revealed that the length of its new crossover is 4.3 meters, which means that it is shorter than the current Outlander, although both models use a common platform.
