McLaren F1 MP4-12COnly time will tell whether the design of the new McLaren MP4-12C will “grow old beautifully” and looks modern even after a decade. At least these are the hopes of the car’s chief designer Frank Stephenson. For now, though the speeches are not so enthusiastic as hoped Stevenson. Many believe that the style is somewhat normal and even connected, especially compared with rivals such as Ferrari 458 Italia. Things did not look like this concept super-car. The design was invented by Matt Williams (Transport Design graduate from the University of Coventry) and illustrates a potential successor to the McLaren F1. Williams, who created that LM5 as part of its draft last year, has created a super-car with middle engine which should be positioned above the MR4-12C to become the successor of the intransitive F1. And since that F1 has inspired LM5, respectively, then the concept has the same configuration with three seats, the driver stands in the middle, and passengers on both sides. However LM5 has its own distinctive and quite aggressive design, it can be said to have its own character. LM5 theory is designed to be driven by a optimized version of the 5-liter V10 engine from the BMW M5 and M6. By this he again reminded the McLaren F1, which was powered by a V12 unit, developed by M division of BMW. Interesting that Williams is remembered and gilded detail in the unit of F1
